Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The DBA will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our databases. The ideal candidate will also be involved in the planning and development of databases, as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and upgrade database servers and tools.
  • Maintain the integrity, security, and availability of all database resources.
  • Monitor database performance and tune as needed for maximum efficiency.
  • Implement and manage database security (encryption, access control, auditing).
  • Backup and restore databases to ensure business continuity.
  • Design and implement disaster recovery solutions.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Maintain documentation related to database configuration, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure database design aligns with application requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance and support of internal databases and systems.
  • Analyze and solve real-time database issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA if applicable).

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role (2–5 years).
  • Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools.
  • Experience with one or more database platforms (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with database design, documentation, and coding.
  • Knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, and integrity.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows server environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus.
  • Certifications such as Oracle Certified DBA, Microsoft SQL Server Certification, or similar are desirable.

Preferred Skills (Optional):

  • Scripting knowledge (Python, Shell, PowerShell).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD.
  • Experience with database replication and clustering.
  • Exposure to tools like phpMyAdmin, pgAdmin, or SQL Developer.
