Deputy Manager – Paint Industry

Job Summary:

The Deputy Manager in the paint industry is responsible for assisting in the overall management of operations, sales, or production within the department. This role involves supervising teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards, improving sales performance, and optimizing production processes to meet business goals. The ideal candidate must have prior experience in the paint/coatings industry and a strong understanding of market trends, formulations, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales & Business Development (if applicable):

• Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue growth.
• Manage relationships with dealers, distributors, and contractors.
• Identify new business opportunities and expand market share.
• Monitor sales targets and team performance.
• Analyze market trends and competitor activities.

2. Operations & Production (if applicable):

• Oversee the manufacturing process to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Work closely with R&D teams to improve formulations and introduce new products.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in the plant.
• Optimize inventory management and supply chain processes.

3. Team Leadership & People Management:

• Lead and motivate teams to achieve operational and sales goals.
• Conduct training and development programs for staff.
• Monitor employee performance and resolve conflicts.

4. Quality Control & Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to industry standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.).
• Work with the QA team to maintain high-quality production.
• Implement health, safety, and environmental guidelines in operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business Administration, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in the paint/coatings industry is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of paint formulations, raw materials, and market dynamics.
• Experience in B2B/B2C sales, dealer management, or manufacturing operations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and CRM tools.
