Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for dispensing prescription medications, providing professional advice on drug usage, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The Pharmacist will work closely with healthcare professionals and patients to ensure safe and effective medication therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prescription Processing & Dispensing:

  • Review and interpret prescriptions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Dispense medications and counsel patients on proper usage, dosage, and potential side effects.
  • Verify drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications before dispensing.
  • Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, patient histories, and inventory.

2. Patient Consultation & Medication Therapy Management:

  • Provide expert guidance on medication use, storage, and potential interactions.
  • Educate patients about over-the-counter medications and alternative treatment options.
  • Offer advice on lifestyle changes that complement prescribed treatments.
  • Address patient concerns and answer queries regarding their medications.

3. Regulatory Compliance & Safety Standards:

  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Maintain proper documentation for controlled substances and narcotics.
  • Stay updated on new drug approvals, recalls, and pharmaceutical advancements.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure medication safety and effectiveness.

4. Inventory & Stock Management:

  • Monitor and manage medication stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and wholesalers for timely procurement of medicines.
  • Dispose of expired or damaged medications in compliance with regulations.

5. Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals:

  • Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers to optimize patient treatment plans.
  • Participate in medical team discussions regarding drug therapy and patient outcomes.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and interns.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy (BPharm/DPharm/PharmD).
  • Licensing: Must be a registered and licensed Pharmacist.
  • Experience: [X] years of experience in a retail, hospital, or clinical pharmacy setting (if required).
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, drug interactions, and medical terminology.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in dispensing medications.

  • Proficiency in pharmacy management software and digital prescription tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in compounding and preparing customized medications.
  • Certification in clinical pharmacy or medication therapy management (MTM).
  • Familiarity with insurance claims and reimbursement procedures.

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • Work in a pharmacy, hospital, or healthcare facility.
  • May require evening, weekend, or holiday shifts.
  • Standing for extended periods and handling pharmaceutical equipment.
