Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Procurement Manager to oversee our company’s purchasing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and maintaining the quality of goods and services. This role requires excellent negotiation skills, strong analytical thinking, and a deep understanding of supply chain and sourcing practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Identify reliable suppliers, negotiate favorable terms, and build strong vendor relationships.
- Analyze market trends and pricing to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with internal departments to forecast demand and ensure timely supply.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, contracts, and related documentation.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, timeliness, and compliance with terms.
- Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and ethical procurement practices.
- Manage procurement budgets, track KPIs, and report on cost savings and efficiency.
- Continuously improve procurement processes and systems for better operational efficiency.
- Lead and mentor procurement staff (if applicable), promoting a high-performance culture.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Proven experience (5+ years) in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing management.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Professional certification such as CPM, CPSM, or CIPS is an advantage.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in procurement (e.g., manufacturing, IT, construction).
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
